The World Cup 2026 host cities span three countries, sixteen stadiums and thousands of miles — from Vancouver’s waterfront to the altitude of Mexico City. Whether you’re planning a trip or just want to know where your team might play, this World Cup 2026 host cities guide covers every venue for the summer’s 104 matches.
How the World Cup 2026 Host Cities Are Split
For the first time, the World Cup is shared between three nations. The United States takes the lion’s share with eleven host cities, Mexico has three, and Canada has two. With 48 teams competing from 11 June to 19 July 2026, the tournament is the biggest ever staged — and the distances involved mean each group is clustered regionally to cut down on travel.
If you’re following a side from our national teams collection, it’s worth checking early which region their group is based in. Fans of CONCACAF nations in particular will find their teams anchored close to home.
Mexico: Where It All Kicks Off
Mexico City — Estadio Azteca
The opening match on 11 June 2026 takes place at the Estadio Azteca, making it the first stadium to host matches at three World Cups (1970, 1986 and 2026). Maradona’s Hand of God and Pele’s 1970 masterclass both happened here. Sitting at 2,200 metres above sea level, the altitude is a genuine factor — and the atmosphere when El Tri play in a Mexico jersey sea of green is unlike anything else in football.
Guadalajara — Estadio Akron
Home of Chivas, one of Mexico’s biggest clubs, Guadalajara is a football-mad city and arguably the country’s cultural heart — birthplace of mariachi and tequila.
Monterrey — Estadio BBVA
Nicknamed “El Gigante de Acero” (the Steel Giant), Monterrey’s stadium is one of the most modern in Latin America, with the Cerro de la Silla mountain framing the open end.
Canada: Toronto and Vancouver
Toronto’s BMO Field, expanded for the tournament, hosts Canada’s opening home match — the first time the Canadian men have played a World Cup game on home soil. Vancouver’s BC Place is a stunning covered venue downtown, and its roof makes it one of the few weather-proof stadiums in the tournament. Canada’s rise, driven by Alphonso Davies, has made their kits some of the most sought-after in our North & Central America range.
The US East Coast Host Cities
New York / New Jersey — MetLife Stadium
The big one. MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford hosts the final on 19 July 2026 in front of more than 82,000 fans. Expect enormous demand for jerseys of whichever finalists make it — after Argentina lifted the 2022 trophy, the Argentina jersey sold out worldwide within days.
Boston, Philadelphia and Atlanta
Gillette Stadium (Boston) and Lincoln Financial Field (Philadelphia) bring two of America’s great sporting cities into the mix, while Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium — with its spectacular retractable roof — hosts a semi-final. Atlanta United fans already make it one of the loudest football venues in the country, a good sign for anyone who follows MLS jerseys.
The US Central and Southern Venues
Dallas (AT&T Stadium) hosts nine matches including a semi-final — more than any other venue. Houston’s NRG Stadium and Kansas City’s Arrowhead Stadium complete the central cluster. Arrowhead is famous as the loudest stadium in the NFL, and Kansas City has embraced the tournament as the smallest US host city. Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium, meanwhile, stages the third-place match and brings serious Latin American energy — expect huge Brazil jersey and Argentina turnouts there.
The US West Coast Host Cities
Los Angeles hosts at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, a $5 billion architectural marvel and the most expensive stadium ever built. The San Francisco Bay Area uses Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, and Seattle’s Lumen Field — backed by some of the most passionate supporters in MLS — rounds out the Pacific cluster. The USA men’s team play group matches in Los Angeles and Seattle.
Which World Cup 2026 Host Cities Will Your Team Play In?
Group-stage teams are assigned to regional clusters, so European giants could land anywhere. Fans with an England jersey, France jersey, Germany jersey, Spain jersey or Portugal jersey should keep an eye on the official schedule at FIFA.com for confirmed match venues and kick-off times. South American qualifiers from our South America collection are expected to draw some of the biggest travelling supports of the summer.
Tips If You’re Travelling to the Tournament
Distances are huge — New York to Los Angeles is a six-hour flight — so pick one regional cluster and stay in it rather than chasing your team coast to coast. Book accommodation early, especially in the smaller host cities like Kansas City where hotel stock is limited. June temperatures in Dallas, Houston and Miami regularly top 35°C, so a lightweight replica shirt is a smarter matchday choice than a heavy retro number — though there’s always room in the suitcase for something from our classic jerseys collection for the evenings.
